Even though I did receive a full refund after it was returned, I would not recommend it to anyone else. I was able to find a solid wood and better made shelf from another vendor.

(More customer reviews)This is a nice simple bed. I spent a lot of time reading and researching beds and trying to find one that matched my tastes. This one has a nice price, a sleek black look, and wasn't difficult to assemble. I spent probably 3-4 hours assembling it. You could probably do it in less but I did it by myself and I wanted to make sure that I followed the directions properly to avoid mistakes. I did make one mistake but it was easily rectified. The instructions were well written but could use some color distinction to help you know which way to flip the pieces. You could figure this out yourself but it would be a good improvement.
The bed itself is quite sturdy. I'm not a big guy at all so it has no trouble whatsoever with my weight. The material is particle board but it holds up well. I will probably buy the matching headboard later on.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)OK, I admit Amazon has taught me to expect fast delivery, so I'm bound to be incredulous when a vendor takes Two Weeks to ship.
So I practice my patience skills, am really happy when it arrives but lo and behold - pieces are broken! Not bent or scratched, but broken...as in snapped in half where the dowel holes are.
I contacted South Shores via email, specified the part required, they asked for more info, I gave them all the codes and part numbers they need, get told to wait for a confirmation and then guess what - nothing, no response, nada. I followed up and what do you know, no record I'd ever exchanged emails with them. So I had to give them all the details again - and - wait for it - it will take another Two Weeks to ship the replacements. I asked them if they could expedite and the girl reluctantly said she'd make it a 'priority' order so it will get shipped out 'sometime this week' rather than waiting the 'standard 10 days' before being 'processed'. What is that about?
I have a gnawing fear that when the replacements come they will be a) broken and b) entirely wrong...that is how underwhelmed I am by this supplier's customer service. Hopeless. Awful. Dreadful. Terrible.
Buy almost any other bed than this one. Seriously. Run for the hills.

So, if you're up for a project, I would say buy this desk. It looks good once it's put together, but after assembling this (took my husband 3 hours), he said 'never again'.... next time I buy something, he wants it already assembled and delivered. Ouch.

Mission Computer Desk - Natural Review

(More customer reviews)I bought my first one of these desks for my guest room (only 12 x 10). I needed a desk that would accomidate my 19" monitor but, had a pullout keyboard tray and matched my natural wood decor and floors, without taking over the room. I also live in the southwest so the style fit in with our existing decor plan without breaking our budget. It was pretty easy to put together (30 - 45 minutes) with very simple tools. My first one has served me well for about a year. The only problem is that I need to tighten the frame as the keyboard tray slips off occasionally. There is only minimal room for paperwork, books, etc. I find it excellent for my needs of surfing the net, paying bills, and propping my feet on while watching TV. I would rate it a 5 if there was no way to hide computer cables. A back panel that extends most the way to the floor would really have helped. I hung a towel the color of our walls behind the desk and that does on OK job of hiding cable running from the CPU to the monitor and they keyboard. Mousepad space is tight so I put mine on the keyboard tray and increased my mouse speed. Target has several other Mission style furniture items that match the desk for reasonable prices. I bought 2 smaller computer desks that have room only for a monitor for our second computer and my my computer at my office. They also have had 2 different styles of matching shelves. I bought (4) 3-tier shelf sets and (1) 4 tier shelf set. The best thing about these shelf units is that they come assembled. You simply fold out the shelves and thats it. These shelf units are amazingly sturdy. Finally I bought a desk organizer that fits onto the desk reasonably well.

What I liked about it was that it was similar to Crate and Barrel's Sloane leaning desk set but almost half the cost (BTW, if you do chose to get this CSN sells the set for about 180 with free shipping). Well, you get what you pay for.
The wood is lightweight and it arrived somewhat chipped (nothing that some black paint can't fix) after shipping. I didn't want to bother sending it all the way back, then waiting for a new one to come so I will deal with this for now.
The set is okay, but is more like the cheap IKEA stuff than C&B.

(More customer reviews)I got this in Oct of 2009. It came in several boxes (2 or 3, can't remember). Everything was very well packaged, no damage, scratches or missing pieces. The assembly took a bit of time as I did it solo. Still, not terrible difficult. I suggest reading the directions before, lining things up and then attaching them. Take your time to make sure that the pieces are facing the right way.
I've had not a single issue in the year plus I've been sleeping on it. It's so solid that it hadly creaks when I get into bed. I'm not a little guy either.
the drawers I use to store sheets and clothes I don't wear much so I'm not using them every day. The only issue I had with them was I over stuffed one and had to refit the bottom into the grooves. SO, I highly recommend using Gorilla glue in all the joints when you assemble the drawers.
One last thing...assemble this in the exact spot where you want it. It's so damn heavy once complete and you can put a ton of stress on the joints if you try to move it and the drawers can be put out of line.
Over all I'm very impressed with the product, especially considering the price.
I bought a "mattress in a box" from another website. It's a king, spring mattress rolled into a small box. Seriously. It's the best mattress I've ever owned. I got my king bed for well under a grand and it's amazing. (I have back issues too!)

(More customer reviews)I should've realized I'd regret buying this bed when I saw that the bottom of the drawers and the back of the headboard were cardboard. The materials are so cheap that the nails they include frequently destroyed the particle board, which is what this bed is made of. Now, half of the drawers don't work because the bottoms have fallen out. I've only had this bed for a year and I'm ready to throw it away and buy another one. It's definitely not worth $300 + dollars. I'm angry that I paid so much money for a bed that fell completely apart within a year. Don't waste your money. Save yourself a headache and buy a bed from another company. I personally will never buy from this company again. They get a total thumbs down from me.

They were very easy to put together and are very study. I love it because I could choose the shape. I made it 3 high and 6 long, it is the perfect height for my 2 year old twins. And it is much safer than having a heavy wooden product that they could tip over. I was really surprised at how much stuff they could hold. They hold books and all. 5 storage solutions made me 18 cubbies. These are so awesome, you have got to get them.
