(More customer reviews)After getting another one, I did purchase this one, even in-spite of the color being nowhere close to cherry. Additionally, as with the other one, there were chips on the corners of the veneer on each shelf. Fortunately the chips were on the back side so as not to be so evident. All in all a good buy with free shipping.
Pros:
Very easy to assemble.
Amazon's usual lightening fast delivery.
Packaged pretty well.
Stands firm even on carpeting.
Very sturdy since I have about 100 old LP's. I placed 50 on the bottom shelf.
Cons:
Not overly attractive for those who have decorating in mind.
Chipped shelves.
The color was nowhere near cherry, as I had expected.

For anyone needing a low cost shelving solution, this is a good deal. Remember, however, the color is more of a light oak than cherry.

(More customer reviews)A little advice for anyone looking to buy a bookcase. Go with a bookcase that is ALL WOOD. I bought this bookcase to replace my $20 Wal-Mart particle board bookcase which fell apart after a year and this bookcase is no better. It's PARTICLE BOARD! It didn't even survive shipping and it's not Fed Ex's fault... the box looks well treated. Opened it up however and the bookcase particle board is broke in half right where they drill for the screws. Bottom line, it's a very cheap bookcase. I'm going to suck it up and buy something which is all wood and will last. Don't forget... books are heavy! Especially when you have lots of them all together. These particle board cases are just not the right solution. You get what you pay for. I do not recommend this item... it will not last!

It's a great product if you know what you're getting yourself into. It's not wood; it's laminated particle board. It requires assembly, which is easy because the directions are specific, and all of the pieces are labeled. As one who has assembled many pieces of furniture, this is always so helpful. The color on this piece is great (I have the dark brown). I can't say that I would make this my primary bookshelf, but in an office space, it's fine. It holds a lot! It really is a great piece for the price.

(More customer reviews)These arrived on time. I ordered a set of two, however they were EXTREMELY heavy and in a long rectangle box. So moving them was really just such a pain. Of course i live in NYC, so it was more difficult to bring these up to my apartment than it should have been. They are pretty simple to put together. Best of all they look very nice and they are sturdy. I would absolutely recommend these.
