For something so large and with the potential of holding a great deal, the flat-pack design with assembly and no hardware shouldn't have been selected in my opinion. Although when assembled, the bookcase is not as sturdy as I'd like, it probably is fine. Relatively speaking, I seem to have gotten the bookcase for a steal at $196.18 shipped given the total cost through other merchants. I would not likely buy this again and would instead look for fully-assembled and more rigid options.
The two-piece back should be one solid panel or at least been packed as a hinged, folding panel to be more rigid. The shelves should be secured to the back panels somehow, and they aren't. Installing the top panel on one side kept causing the side panel to slide out of alignment along the entire height of the bookcase. This is due to the tight fit and tab/hole side-back joint design. The side panel slid enough to cause the tabs and holes to separate, and this wasn't easy to correct. Buyers would be best to assemble this on a hard surface instead of carpet. If assembling on carpet, lay the bookcase down, push the bottom flush against a baseboard, and then use the mallet to insert the top. This will help keep the side panels from sliding and separating from the back.

If you think Ikea stuff is bad, think again. This makes Ikea feel like a luxury furniture maker. Every cam lock stretched and fell apart forcing me to drill and screen the thing together. It's weak material and cheap construction.

(More customer reviews)ALthough it looks like a pretty piece, be advised that the back made of two pieces of a cheep material held together with duct tape. This is more MDF covered with veneer than one would expect at this price. The pre-drilled holes do not match up and, as a result, it is difficult to get the magnets to hold the door together appropriately. The cabinet took no less than five hours to assemble. When ours arrived one door was slightly warped - warped enough to make it so the magnets don't hold the door shut. Although the company promptly sent a replacement door, it will be another 30 minutes of work to replace it.

The assembly took less than 1/2 hour. The unit is very sturdy and looks great. The color was a little more red than we expected (also noted by someone else). We have been looking for a corner unit for a while and this one is well-suited and a very good value.

(More customer reviews)This product comes with cheap thin plastic parts. I didn't buy my from Amazon (Big mistake) but Home Depot, and the plastic parts were shipped broken. You can tell these are very flimsy and would eventually break after use. They say a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and this is certainly true. The wood was nice, but when made with poor parts, it's just a poor bookshelf. I am very dissappoited in this product...DO NOT BUY!!!

I particularly like the back that is not the typical "cardboard" at this pricepoint. It is real wood and much stiffer, thus providing a more upscale look for the money. I purchased a different size in the series and it came with a vinyl type back, that was just as good as it was sturdy. The wood surfaces are nice and rich looking. These units are a good value.

(More customer reviews)The bookshelf may not e sturdy when it doesn't have books on it, but mine is full and I've had it a little over two years now and have never had it fall or move around; and it's not anchored to the wall. So I don't know what the woman before me was complaining about.
The shelves are different sizes, so you can keep your bigger books on some shelves and smaller books on others. They shelf is a little ridiculous how small it is, but that's the only complaint I have. I've been able to fit every book I own, including binders on it with no problem. So, once again, don't know what the woman before me was complaining about.
It looks great! I get compliments all the time. And a great price! Especially compared to similar bookshelves.

(More customer reviews)The bookcase is poorly designed. The green wooden bars do not actually connect between levels -- only a very thin wooden dowel within each green wooden bar connects the two levels. The first day we had the bookcase, these wooden dowels broke.
This bookcase does not appear to be safe as the top level could become separated and easily fall. I strongly advice you not to purchase it. If you have already purchased it, I recommend that you examine and/or return your bookcase.

(More customer reviews)Overall, this is a fantastic bargain for someone looking for a practical, storage-type headboard. The price ($178) for the king size was the best I was able to find for a storage headboard. It's particle board-type material, assembled like IKEA furniture. The instructions could have been a bit clearer on the assembling of the storage shelves, but really not a problem. The one thing that really needs caution is tamping in the dowels on the very top shelf of the headboard. Make sure you line them up and hand-guide them into the holes. I screwed this step up because I was doing it myself and had a hard time since it was king size unit. Only improvement I would make is to cut out some holes in the backer piece so that electrical cords can fit thru for a nice, clean look if you plan on putting a telephone or small lamp or electric clock on the headboard shelves.

This is a good quality bed including a footstool. The bed is huge, so you are better off if you have a large bedroom on the same floor as your entrance.DECENT QUALITY
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bed. It looked better than we expected.
All the drawers slide in and out easily. The drawers in the headboard are lined with soft cloth. The headboard shelves include holes for electric cords.
The main drawers aren't deep enough to use all the space in the bed, but they still offer a lot of storage. Ideally, we wish the blank space between the drawers in the foot board was a small door so that we could use the empty space in the middle of the bed too.
The package includes the footstool shown in the product photo.SHIPPING
Shipping took a few weeks.
We had a part with a slight break from shipping. Visiondecor offered to replace the broken part, but we fixed it ourselves.
Shipping did not include assembly, and did not include carrying the pieces to our master bedroom on the second floor. The four main pieces were very heavy and unwieldy. My wife and I had an extremely hard time getting the pieces up our staircase. If your bedroom is on a different floor than your entrance, you may want to reconsider this purchase.ASSEMBLY
Once we had the four main pieces in the correct room, assembling them only took about an hour.
The instructions were poorly written, but that wasn't a problem.
Hint: if you assemble this on a carpet, the headboard will sink into the carpet more than the main piece, so the bolt holes may not line up at first. You can slide a few of the thin sheets of plywood the bed was packaged in under the corners of the headboard to raise it up a bit for assembly. (I don't think this would be a problem on a hard floor.)MASSIVE
This bed is incredibly huge. If you look at the product image and imagine a 6' (183 cm) tall man standing next to it, his belt would be about even with the top of the mattress. You'd better have a large room for this bed.

Kids Bookcases: Kids 6 - Cube Honey Bookcase, White 6 - Cube Bookcase Review

(More customer reviews)This bookcase was a bit pricey (as are most items from Land of Nod), but I can confirm that this is a higher quality piece of furniture than you'd get at your run-of-the-mill kids store. If you're looking for something that will last a while this is a good choice.
Likes:
- Good quality, definitely a step above most kid-store furniture. Even the back panel seemed
to be real wood instead of flimsy paper/fiber board which is common on pieces like this.
- Very sturdy once assembled
- Reasonably easy to put together (less than 1hr for 1 adult) using simple instructions
- Comes with hardware for attaching to wall for safety to prevent tipping
- Well packed by shipper, no damage due to shipping
Dislikes (all minor):
- Two of the pre-drilled holes in the back panel were off a bit, resulted in the screw protruding through the wood where it shouldn't have. It was on the very bottom (underneath the bottom shelf) and therefore completely invisible. I got my drill out and made two new holes slightly higher up. Problem solved.
- One minor ding on front of bookcase - I will touch it up with some white paint (or white-out).
Other:
- Lots of "matching" accessories available at Land of Nod (e.g. trays, storage bins, etc). Not the cheapest, but you'll know their stuff fits the cubes and looks nice.
- At time of writing this cannot be purchased direct through Amazon.com but only through the Land of Nod external website. Would love to see free shipping on this stuff - cost me about $45 and was shipped Fedex.
- Made in Thailand
- Box says it was about 70+ pounds.

It looks great in my apartment and it isn't flimsy at all (in about the first hour we got it together my cat jumped on it for his one and only time! but it held him fine..... and hes not light on the weight) but i recommend this to everyone looking for a modern style bookcase! I probably would have spent more money at an expensive furniture store than the actual bookshelf and shipping together cost. ITS GREAT!

Large Cube Storage Cubby / Bookcase Grid (Silver) Review

(More customer reviews)I have owned several of these over the years and it works very well. Initial set up can be a pain (literally) as you snap together the mesh boxes. But you can do so many different configurations with it that it's definitely worth the price. It is also easy to add on to if you ever require more room. The wire is sturdy enough to hold books and the box size limits you from over doing it.
My only caution would be to make sure you put weight on each box once assembled to make sure it's snapped together properly. If you are stacking it into a tower configuration check each level, this will make it much more stable and less likely to fall apart.
